This typewriter itself is in impressive condition all around, with very few paint flaws or imperfections.
The Clipper was named after Boeing's 314 Clipper- which although was retired by Pan-Am in 1946- still continued to represent a new era of elegant, luxurious travel, and which this typewriter is directly associated with. This model features Smith-Corona's attractive 'speedline' body with jet black crinkle paint. The Clipper was Smith-Corona's post-war Standard model after the company resumed manufacturing after the end of WWII.
Up for sale is an absolutely beautiful Smith-Corona Clipper which was made in 1946.
